Four of the Five times that I have eaten lunch in the Ten Palms Dining Room at Gulfstream Park since it opened this year, I have,
coincidentally, been sitting next to Michael Matz and his two young
children.
After I offered him my sincerest condolences for his loss of Barbaro, we have been chatting ever since.

Wow! I would like to believe you are being honest. That would be so cool. My husband, sons and I love Barbaro. It would be wonderful to talk to him and see what he is like in person. You are lucky to have met him.

It's sort of funny that you would ask this. I nearly met Michael at a clinic he was giving ten years ago in Southern Pines, NC. ( He was surrounded by people at the time, and I couldn't get close enought to speak to him, but I have never forgotten that day.) I would like a chance to see Michael again- but I will wait and be patient, as I have been following him and his career long enough to know that that will happen at some point. ( I have many, many wonderful memories of his exploits and heroism, some of which go back to when I was only 12 years old.) If you can see this, Michael, my regards to you and DeeDee, and your family, and good luck this season.
