Thanks to Xavier for the answer re. my plug-ins. but the list showing them only offered "Try it Now"

Each time I clicked on a plug-in, a note popped up" An error occurred while trying

to access Yahoo Plug-in" no button showing "Start". Also, at bottom of computer, the yahoo icon shows IM 7 while property show IM 8. What is cause? Could this be that my Plug-in list doesn't let me choose them? Or is it because I don't have Window XP but Me? If so, why then I was able to download IM 8?

Update:

Now, after 2 days, it's worse. The list won't show any more, only a note saying I already had tried them all ( I didn't , not even one) !!! How could I have? Not once had any plug-in actually loaded on to IM for me to try!!!!

The issue maybe related to the fact you're using Windows Me, can you try on a computer that has Windows XP?

The "Try it now" link is on the "Featured Plug-ins" tab, you should see another tab named "My Plug-ins", click on it and it should show you a list of plugins there.

    hope this helps!

Since there are millions of people on this site, and millions of questions, the chances of Xavier seeing this are really, really tiny.

The way to thank him is to go back to the other questions, and choose his answer as Best and thank him there

-- you might ask him to get in touch with you, as you need help. (Make sure you Profile for this service allows such communication.)

Otherwise, you need to give all the details in your next question, so people know what's going on, or they can't help you.

Did you download the plug-ins either when you downloaded IM 8 or after? If not, that's your problem.

When you say "property" what do you mean, where are you seeing this?

If "bottom of computer" means the strip that shows what's running, then it's saying you're running IM 7, not 8. You need to find IM 8, and double-click it to launch it.

Sorry, I'm on a Mac, not Win, so I don't know how to get IM 8 into your start menu so it will run, instead of 7.
