Because Yahoo is messing up a lot lately. Go to Chat through your messenger instead of through the website. Sometimes it takes several tries...like this morning, it just won't open for me at all....grrrrr.....
OR you can delete the program in your Control Panel (Add/Delete Programs) and then reinstall it by going to www.yahoo.com (which I'm about ready to do before I strangle it!) Good Luck...

because you are underage(you shall be above 18 to enter the chat room) and maybe because the chat room is full.
