"We left Viet Nam before "the job was done," yet it's become a thriving, peaceful society.

How is that a lesson that we should not leave Iraq?

If anything, it's a lesson for just the opposite.

Bush's ideolical outlook has made him immune to any kind of deductive reasoning.

This is why I don't trust ideologues from either side--they don't think, they just "believe."

His arrogance has cost Americans dearly. One leads to the other. The man obviously can't ever admit when he's wrong. Even when he said "mistakes have been made" he refused to take personal responsibility for those mistakes. So not being able to admit failure leads him to desperately believe this course in Iraq is the right one. Believing anything else would force him to acknowledge he was wrong on so many counts - and that just isn't happening. He'll never understand that military might isn't going to solve the political problems in Iraq. Solve the political issues and the rest becomes manageable. Our President's ego and arrogance makes him a very dangerous man in these frightening times. Dangerous to us most definitely. I wish he were as dangerous to the terrorists, but he's too busy policing a civil war to fully attend to that.

Of all the things that the president might or might not be, I believe he is sincere in his belief that a democracy in the Middle East is an achievable and worthy goal. I also believe that he truly thinks that a defeat in our war on terror is not an option.

If we already won then why are we still there?

Bush is a failure that stinks so bad they can smell him all the way to Baghdad
