Go to mail page,click option's,click on mail addresses,down page to extra mail address.Click get started,there you make a new ID and password.It will be in addition to your other ID and password.Now you will have two email ID's useable with mail,messenger and other yahoo site's.Don't forget the first one you may need later if you don't use it.It is still your account. Or get a whole new account and delete that one you have now.

Choose which provider u like best: Yahoo!, AOL, AIM, Hotmail, etc.
Go to their website.
click on Mail
click on Create New Account
Fill out information as stated

Well, for Yahoo go to Yahoo.com and instead of signing in, set up a new account.

You could close your account on yahoo and remember your password just different username.
