Can anyone offer advice on flirting?

Question

I was with my first real boyfriend for nearly 4 years until he declared he was not in love with me and took off overseas. (as of last July) I have got through sad depressive times and had a first single (drunken) kiss, but need some advice on getting back out there. I don't have many single friends and I'm starting to feel very isolated and lonely being single.

I guess I'm asking a couple of questions, but I'm not ready to go to even second base yet and just want to know female and male perspectives on flirting. Do you guys always think it's going to go further, or will I always have to explain I don't want it to go any further?
Any good free chat sites I could practise flirting without the stress?
Guys, if a single girl is on the prowl, how would you expect her to start something?

You answered mine, so I'll answer yours. You have to put yourself out there. I'm no expert on this kind of thing, because I've been on one date in my life, and SHE gave me her number and started things off. By the way, after three weeks of calling me every day, she stopped calling and got pregnant by some other guy, so I'm single once more.
