What is the difference between the Sims 2 Life Stories and the Sims 2?

Is it better than the original Sims 2 game? What is so special about it?

From what I've read, it will be more limited in that there won't be as much furniture and the like to choose from, and less freedom, especially seeing as it is not compatible with any of the existing Sims versions to date, but a complete stand-alone.

It is designed to give more structure to the sim games, so you are following a storyline with set characters, rather than free-playing with characters of your own design.

Have you played the Sims games on Playstation 2? I should think it would be somewhat like that, where you have a list of goals to complete before you can unlock items or move onto another property.

The big difference between the two games is the addition of the new directed Story mode, laptop friendly system specs, and the ability to play the game in a separate window while using your own IM and email to stay connected with friends.

The Sims Stories games are standalone games and do not support expansion packs or stuff packs from The Sims or The Sims 2 collections.

First off its not Sims 2 life story it just sims lifestory.in sims lifestory u have the chance to play a "pre-made" characvter, but u can also have an own thing without a story.another thing is that it has laptop friendly specs.if u have a desktop that can handle sims 2 then just get that

the sims life stories is basically u be one person and live out their life through different events and ages...... it is very confusing...but sims 2 is u control the whole family and build their houses and is like a simulation (hints: sims) i don't have sims life stories but i have heard about it but i have the sims 2. If you are debating if u should get one or the other u should get the sims 2! but u could also get the other one.

in life stories you have to complete a goal before playing the open ended game. it's not too great, i wouldn't recommend it unless you like having a goal to complete in games. It's not better than the original sims2 game, just has a bit more point. I didn't like it and thought it was a waste of time, it was too easy and was a lot shorter than I thought it would be. It was a disapointment on EAgames part.

Instead of creating your own character, you'll be taking control of an existing character, and playing through their lives. There will be special events not seen in the lives of your average Sims.

Basically, it's kind of like a Story Mode.
