What is the meaning behind the Fall Out Boy song "This Aint a Scene, It's an Arms Race"?

From what I've heard it's about trying to be explosive in what you like and do your own thing, even if people aren't going along with you, and stop trying to fit into the mold people put you into. That's not official from FOB or anything, but basically, it's about being true to what you want.

One thing that really ties into that song meaning is that Fall Out Boy worked with people way outside of the genre they are stuck in, and really went out to be something different, and they're better than ever.

Okay the song means that they are not famous just be to on the scene (a.k.a be famous and be in the Hollywood spot light) they are doing it because they love the thrill it gives them. I saw it in an interview once with Pete. I love Fall Out Boy also so I know like a lot of things about the band. Don't feel bad a lot of people don't know what it means.

personally, i think the music video is waaaay better than the song. they make fun of themselves.. for ex... pete had bad pics of himself that leaked all over the web... they actually show that in the vid . if you got the new c.d, some of the songs are about pete o.ding on drugs.but whatever...........i need my space like my corner in a dark alley..............

i have no idea but someone better find out cause its driving me crazy. i would like to speak to the dude who wrote it. what the heck does it mean? an arms race?? what are they killing each other or something? lol
