I breed these already and am getting ready to pair my couple up about mid march. The advice that mysticdreamer gave you is pretty much right on. You male who is 1 year old should be mature enough, but it is border line. He might not be ready this year, but it doesn't hurt to try it. You are not going to need a large tank just one that is comfortable for them both. You probably won't even see them join because they will mate under the substrate. increase the humidity just a little, normally you can do this by just putting in a slightly larger water bowl, but be careful, too humid with these snakes can cause respirtory infections. Leave him in with her for about 3 days, then separate and wait the time frames that mysticdreamer says. However, she states that you should not have small substrate because of it sticking to the neonates eyes, that shouldn't really matter too much, what you need to make sure of is that it is still substrate that the female can still "burrow" in and hide, these snakes are very secretive and need that seculsion to be calm and healthy.

Male boas usually reach maturity at 1 year, so now would be good to start. Make sure you get a good day/night schedule for your female (12 hours each). Always keep the tank above 80. It's tricky to get mama in the mood. Make sure there is a lot of space too. Feed them are rarely as possible, and if you do feed, feed them seperately.
