Why would Penn State list a degree in Criminal Justice as a Bachelor of Science degree and Georgia......?
and Georgia list it as a Bachelor of Arts degree. I would suspect that they would both have to be somewhat similar in the information taught in order to have our police forces across the country, on somewhat the same sheet of music.

Instead of randomly askingthis question here, why dont you go to the websites for the two schools and see what the requirements are for the degrees. You will probably find as Taranto says that they are in different depts. Often the difference between a BA and BS is a difference of only one or two courses - one school might require one semester of chemistry, the other two semesters, or some difference similar to that.
Go to the source! There are a lot of people on Yahoo who just make up answers that have no validity at all!

There are lots of majors that are a BS in one school and a BA in another. I've seen mathematics as both and economics as both.
It has more to do with which college the department is assigned to than to the material taught. Employers would look at a BA as being equivalent to a BS.
