Graduation, Grand-daughter?
How much is 'right' to give A 18yr.old ,that is reasonable.and 'We' should give her,$100.00 .$200.00 or less.?,would like to help her out from time to time while away at school,and not have her expectations high, cause of the amount being given her at High School graduation.ths

Give her anything you feel comfortable giving her.
My advice is: Since most young people today have high expectations(especially where money is concerned) I would say $100.00 for graduation because this is a special occasion. Then you can give her anything under $100.00 to help her out when she's away at college.

eddy -- The 'right' amount depends on a lot of factor, including your ability to give, how close to her you are, what you've given her in the past for various occasions.....
Have you thought about opening an IRA in her name, as a first step for her future (assuming you are in the USA). If not in the USA, perhaps a certificate of deposit, something she can't spend on a whim.
18 y.o. kids can be pretty careless with money, and if you want her to use it as a nest egg instead of for beer and chips (or whatever she enjoys), those are things you might take into account.
She sounds like a lucky girl to have a grandparent such as you. Peace be...
