Is it illegal to cut a person's pay in Indiana?

Is it illegal to cut a person's pay in Indiana. This person works for a small, nonfranchised food establishment. The company cited a slump in sales and cut the person's pay. The person was an hourly manager.

    Unless the are covered under a personal or union contract, they have no recourse.

    The alternative is to fire them and leave them with zero pay.
