What's the difference between a motel, an inn and a lodge?

Motel----->a hotel which caters particularly for motorists; a hotel providing travelers with lodging and free parking facilities, typically a roadside hotel having rooms adjacent to an outside parking area or an urban hotel offering parking within the building.

Inn----->A public lodging house serving food and drink to travelers; a hotel.

Lodge----->the main building of a camp, resort hotel, or the like. A cottage or cabin, often rustic, used as a temporary abode or shelter: "a ski lodge".

SO BASICALLY . . . motels are for motorists, inns are for commercial purposes and / or serve food or drinks, and lodges are seasonal and close during an off season

A motel = a stand by itself, single room for rent off the interstate.

An inn = a room among several for rent in one building, usually in the countryside off the interstate.

A lodge = a single or duel rooms for rent in one building out in the wilderness for hunters or fishermen.
