Most auto manufactures went with a skewed oil pressure gauge sometime ago meaning that the oil pressure gauge stays at the same point unless there is a sever loss or gain in oil pressure. Most GM vehicles are non-skewed type oil pressure gauges meaning that they will fluctuate oil PSI as the engine revs. so it is normal for your oil pressure to fluctuate

you could of got water around the sending you net of the oil pressure sending you net are you reeling on the stock gage more in likely that is your problem. or you was really hard on it and you did some thing to the oil pump it self or stunt a bearing in the motor.

Check the oil to see if its full. If your air filter was really dirty, you could have pulled dirt into the engine which will lower your oil pressure.

in a 2000 5w30 is recomended that's achieveable that they did not fill it or perhaps used a inexpensive oil filter out, have faith it or not an oil filter out may well be undesirable I surely have had it take place (purilator junk) i might substitute the oil returned and consider out that. additionally once you alter the oil returned use a quart of lucas oil scientific care it fairly does artwork.

first you have to make sure your oil pressure is fluctuating.....have your pressure checked manually......if it truly is wavering....check oil pump, pump drive, pump drive gear,s,etc....if it,s not........check sensor,Gage, wiring.
