Zoloft side effects???
I started taking zoloft 3 days ago. My doctor put me on it for anxiety and I am not really depressed but I worry about things too much and let it get to me. Since taking these pills, my stomach has been really upset. This morning when I woke up I had diareaha(spelling?), My mouth was really dry so I kept drinking water. Not much, just enough to wet my mouth. About 15 minutes later I ended up vomitting. I have read that the possible side effects of taking Zoloft is what I mentioned above but how long do I have the side effects? Also the first day I took it I took it at bedtime and I slept good the first night. Last night when I took it I took it about an hour earlier and I was tired within an hour or two, but when I went to sleep I was restless and it took a long time to fall asleep. Anyone else have that happen to you before? Thanks for all your help.

See that the thing with medications, they cause side effects. It effects different people differently, I've had patients that experience the same symptoms that you mentioned as well as dizziness.
I'd like to suggest an alternative solution. It has been suggested that anxiety and depression is caused by a vitamin deficiency. Try some B complex and folic acid. I've provided a website link below for more information.
Also premium chocolates always cheer me up as well as grapefruit shower gel, maybe you should try it. here is a link for some great shower gel it costs about 5 dollars for 16 ounces. http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=159...

I was on Zoloft for about a year. I found that it helped alleviate most of my symptoms of depression. However, in my case, it seemed to work only in bursts of six weeks. My dosage was increased several times. This could have been due to any one of a number of factors, though; each case is entirely different. If you feel comfortable with trying out other medications, you should.
As for the side effects... I found them to be fairly mild. I had a bit of lightheadedness and stomach discomfort, but I found that the side effects disappeared after a week or so. At one point, I had tried out Celexa, and the side effects were horrible, so maybe you will have some luck with Zoloft too.
I however decided that medication is not for me, so I slowly weaned myself off of the Zoloft (with my general practisioner's approval, of course). I had quite a bit of trouble coming off of the Zoloft, mind you this had been after about ten months of daily doses. I experienced a great deal of dizziness, lightheadedness, loss of appetite... it was not what I would call a fun time. Just be aware of this when you take any medication. Trying to come off of it is going to be difficult, no matter how "non-addictive" doctors say it is.
I wish you the best.

I had the exact same side effects the first few weeks of using zoloft (2-3 weeks). Not too worry, those affects went away in-time.
But you should always be in contact with your doc the first few weeks, especially if you have any concerns (remember that is what you are on the drug for:)).
It really takes 6-8 weeks to fully see the benefits of the drug, so be somewhat patient.

Let your doctor know about what effects you have been experiencing. your doctor might need to adjust your dose (e.g., lower the strength). you can also discuss this with your local pharmacist, they would be able to tell you when is the best time of the day to take it, if you need to take it with food, etc.
