Dogs do that kind of thing... it's normal, several dogs I know run and lick up your snot when you spit, others steal the kleenex you spit or blow your nose in, still other dogs love rag time bathroom snacks, and others eat the crotch out of any underwear lying around. Dogs dont find that kind of thing gross, but the dont understand why we dont clean it up like they do, so they clean up all on their own. However it isnt good for them to eat these things so you should keep garbage cans with lids, or under the cupboard, close the bathroom door, and use a lid on your dirty clothes hamper... after all dogs will be dogs.

Yeah dogs are sniffy and love biological remnants.
What you can do is try to replace the stuff you DON'T want him into, with stuff that is okay for him to play with. The family's litter products, keep in covered containers that he can't get into. You may be able to catch his interest to distract him by applying hunting scents to his fav toys (check the sporting good store) The good news is that many times, these aren't even something that humans can smell, it is just the pheromones from the doe urine, etc.
In particular, used kleenex may mean he likes to shred, or may mean he wants some salt from the boogies in it. You can replace it with a bunch of old socks tied together in knots...and maybe stuff some of the socks with clumps of softener salt (I think this is edible). Then he can get a little salty taste with something that will be a little harder to tear up.

Because the 'mucus' smells good and is 'tasty' to a dog. It is also potentially 'dangerous' to the dog and to the other humans in the house (and outside) and you should be sure that after you have 'blown' that the paper is disposed of in a way/place that your dog can't reach ... you could be 'spreading germs' that you probably don't want to 'spread around.'

Lot's of dogs do this. My mom's dogs go crazy when anyone blows their nose because they want to eat the tissue. You just need to make sure he can't access those types of things.

My boxer does that type of stuff too, they are just big meathead dogs so get used to it.
