How do they chose who wins the featured avatar thing?

Just wondering cause I am.

Update:

I just want to know if it is a random drawing or if you can vote somehow.

    I've never heard of -----"featured avatar"---.

    Are you perhaps talking about the avatars that appear on the first page of a category ??

    If so---- they are featured because they have the highest number of best answers in that category---and it changes as soon as someone beats their score.

    If that's not what you're talking about-----then sorry---I must be lost too .
