You are low on antifreeze.

How is your water pump? Leave the heater off and drive around under 30 mph for about a minute then turn the heater on high. If you get hot air but it then bleeds off to cold after about 10 seconds or so, back flush the heater core. Or try finding the problem on the web. Also try Suzuki XL7, same vehicle.

be shure and check your coolant level when the engine is cold. you try and back flush the heater core by removing both heater hoses under the hood and crimping them off so not to lose very much coll ant. also check and see if you can feel or hear the different heater doors open and closing by feeling for the airflow out of the vents, defroster ducts and at the floor.

Since its speed related you could just purchase gallon of antifreeze and fill your Radiator. you probably have an air bubble in your engine block that will work itself out if you keep filling your radiator.
it that does not work try this.
when the heater fails in any car the first thing to replace is the engine Thermostat. Usually cost about $7-$15 and $40 to put it in. Actually in most cars you can do it yourself if you know what you are doing.

check for a blockage in your heater hoses. sometimes the vacuum assisted lever that controls the heat selector (water valve) could be stuck or malfunctioning
good luck

Sounds like a heater control door sticking, bring it to the dealer & have them repair it before you freeze!Good luck

It could be several different things it could be the heater core or the fan or the heater motor itself or it also could be the thermastat
