What are points for apart from losing 2 for question & earning them for answer given?

First, to reach level 2 you must have 250 total points. If you drop below that you will again be on level one. You may answer and vote on 20 questions a day giving you 2 points and 1 point respectively. You loose points for asking a question but may gain that back by picking best answer. (that is to help eliminate people just asking stupid questions and not taking part in anything else) Once you reach level 2 you will be able to rate others with a thumbs up or down but you will receive no points for that. You will get nothing but your own satisfaction for reaching the next level and helping others in the process. Occasionally, yahoo does send out cute little gifts depending on what level you are on but not often)

The way I figure it, if you answer and vote on the Max number of questions you can it will take...

2 days to get to level 2

8 days to get to level 3

8 days to get to level 4

3 weeks to get to level 5

40 days to get to level 6 if you only answer and vote on 50 questions (remember that's 2 points and 1 point respectively, so mix it up however you want)

4 months to get to level 7 (if you follow the above 50 question rule)

You get 2 points for answering a question, 5 points taken off for asking one. When you pick a best answer for your question you get 3 points, when you vote for a best answer you get 3 points ( I think) and when your answer is picked as the best you get 10 points!

Oh, and you get 1 point for every day that you log in.

You can't do anything with the status apart from be proud of yourself and know that you spend too much time on Yahoo Answers!
