Laptop Hardrive?

Is it possible to put a laptop hardrive in a desktop? If so what do you do because mine has different ports.

I can't use my laptop, it is dead...I'm trying to get the info off the hardrive though.

CompUSA I know has an adapter for IDE to Mini IDE. You would connect the power and the IDE cable into this board and just simply plug in the laptop drive and turn it on. I think this peice costs roughly $10.

Buy/Use an external 2.5" hard disk casing. You put your laptop hard disk into the casing and the casing will connect to your desktop via USB or FireWire. The casing works like a PenDrive.

You can buy a 3-1/2" USB hard drive enclosure to put that drive into. That would be the cheapest and easiest and would keep that slower drive off of the bus that your main hard drive is on.
