If you stop and think with some common sense, what do you see happening in Iraq in the next 2 to 5 years?

The U.S. withdraws, Muqtada al Sadr takes over. Since he hates al-Quieda and the Baathist he goes after them. Since there are no US forces there, the foriegn fighters and funding dry up and the Sunnis learn to live with it and the war ends.
There is a Victory Parade in Bagdad and w aren't invited.
Both Al Quieda and we are out of it. The Shiite takeover of Iraq that Reagan spend billions avoiding is complete thanks to george Exxon Bush.

Much of the same of what is happening now. I don't know how much of an American presence that we will have here but we will have one. There are Muslim extremists that believe that they should be in power because they are the true descendant of Muhammad. They will not stand for or allow a democratic type govt where people vote for for their political leaders. These extremists will continue to fight for what they believe in not only here but all over the world. That's the main beef between the Sunni's and Shiites now they believe that their main man should be in charge.

Can't say. Congress is wanting our troops out by the Fall of 2008. So, it's only a year and 1/2 away.

Many soldiers will be on their 6th and 7th tours of duty. Many more will have to endure Walter Reed. Thousands and thousands of babies will never know their fathers or mothers. In Washington, the finger pointing and denial will continue. And whoever makes those body bags will be rolling in dough.

That is probably the best analysis I have seen. The irony is that if we left Iraq tomorrow that is what will happen, and that is also what will happen if we don't pull out until 2010.
