You can use alot of things, garlic, lemons, wine, oregano etc it's just Marinade recipes your looking for I guess...

    Marinade for Chicken

1/2 cup red wine or white wine

    1 teaspoon soy sauce

    1 teaspoon ground ginger

    1 tablespoon lemon juice

    2 scallions, chopped

    Combine all ingredients.

Remove skin from your chicken breasts and marinate for several hours, turning occasionally.

As you broil the chicken, baste it occasionally with the marinade to prevent dryness.

Cook until chicken is done and juices run clear.

    Marinade for Steak

    1/4 cup ketchup

    1/4 cup worcestershire sauce

    1/4 cup steak sauce

    1/4 cup Italian dressing

2 tablespoons McCormick's Montreal Brand steak seasoning

    1/4 cup red wine vinegar

    1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

    2 tablespoons liquid smoke

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

    1 teaspoon onion powder

    1 teaspoon paprika

    1/4 cup olive oil

combine all ingredients in medium bowl whisk together till well blended.

combine steaks of your choice to marinade.

    marinade 4 to 10 hours.

I use t bones, rib eyes, New York strip steaks.

    Basic Seafood Marinade

    1 tablespoon garlic, minced

    1 tablespoon gingerroot, grated

    3 tablespoons Italian dressing

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

Place all ingredients in ziplock bag and seal.

    Shake to mix.

Add fish and allow to marinade for 30 minutes in refrigerator.

That may help start you off, there are also rubs you can use for meats too....pretty much anything you have in your kitchen can somehow come together for meat, or vegetable , or fish marinade it depends on what you like.

    Good Luck

Bar BQ sauce makes a great marinade, also you can make rubs, for meat with a lot of common household spices. Like black pepper, pizza peppers, olive oil, and a little bit of seasoning salt.
