I have heard this to be true too...
but basically it boils down to:
calories consumed - calories burned, if person A has a desk job and person B is a waiter and both of them eat 3500 calories a day, then person A will gain more weight in the long run.

That's right. Eating 3500 more calories than you burn will make you gain a pound. Of course, that means you have to burn an extra 3500 calories to lose a pound.
It takes a 150 pound person five hours of high impact aerobics to burn approximately 3500 calories. An average McDonald's meal has around 1500 calories. One slice of pepperoni pizza is about 300 calories.
It's very easy to put on the weight, but it takes a lot to take it off.

Not true. It totally depends on how many calories you are burning in a day. If I get on my exercise bike and ride for 2 hours and it says I burned 1500 calories and I ate 3500 in the day, then do the math. If your body only needs 2000, then why would you want to eat 3500 unless your are working that much off?

One could only gain weight or pound when he or she is doing a sedimentary kind of work activity.
Sedimentary work means that a person is engaged in office or clerical type of work i.e. he do not have to burn any extra calorie in doing that work, such work only involves reading, writing, etc. And about 2200 calorie is needed to sustain a person doing sedimentary work for 24 hours.
So if you are engaged in a work activity which is sedimentary type you will need to consume food having more than 2500 calorie to gain a pound.
on the other hand the person who doing hard labour work need more calorie about 5000 calorie to sustain him through the day.

I also want to gain weight. If I was you I would eat a really really really huge breakfast. After that drink five bottles of water. You could gain 4 pounds. Have a really really gigantic lunch. After that drink 1 gallon of water. You might gain 6 pounds. Have a really really really gigantic feast for dinner with fattening food. After that drink 7 cups of water. You might gain 13 pounds.
I am 9 and I'm 63 pounds.

Actually for every 3/4 lb of fat you gain, you gain 1/4 pound of muscle to carry it around. It takes less calories to build muscle than fat, so in order to gain about a pound of body mass, you would have to eat around 3,000 calories. A pound of body mass just consisting of fat; however, yields 3,500 calories.

You can loose a kilo a week easy without exercise with the following, and reduces hunger pangs, and brings you back to a normal weight, while focusing on low GI.
> Plenty of water, no sugar, no white bread.
> Breakfast : banana, skim milk, qtr tsp honey milk shake
Coffee (no sugar)
> Mid Morning : Small mixture of nuts, saltanas, carrots sticks
> Lunch : Mixed salad, lettuce, olives, cucumber, cheese, smoked salmon or chicken pieces
> Afternoon : Apple, rest of nuts, cup of tea (no sugar)
> While making dinner : Small amount of cheese, olives, 5 rice crackers, 1 small glass of wine
> Dinner : Steak, Chicken or fish, small amount of sweet potato, OR corn, OR pumpkin, green vegetables, some carrot
> Dessert : 2 spoonpulls of tinned fruit, and small yogurt
The secret :
= Snack on small cheese, and small crackers, makes dinner feel fulle rin your tummy. You will sleep better too.
= STAY AWAY from sugar, morning cereals, white bread, white rice, white potato, cookies, cakes, icecream, lollies
= Stay busy, and snack on apple, nuts, 2 coffees in the morning, and a tea at night keeps away hunger pangs.
= the banana gives you energy, and goodness in the mornng, while the coffee wakes you up, and kick starts metab.
I feel more energy than I have ever felt before, have a post baby body at 76 kgs, and went down to 67 kgs in 2 months, and have kept it off for 2 years. Bread now gives me a headache, so I limit it to 1 slice fo toast every 2nd morn, or a salad sandwhich 2 times a week, or icecream and wafers every sat night.
The key is staying away from wheat, and sugar, and white potato.
if you can do this, you will not believe the change in your personality, sex life, skin tone, size, positive attitude, brain power, energy, and the length of your life.
After the first week - it is so damn easy. I have never looked back - only to take my larger clothes to St Vinnies op shop.
You know you can do it.
If you get time to go walking in the mornng or afternoon, then that will speed up the process by 20 %
