Europeans - the Americans will still be attempting to dunk, the Europeans will just stand outside and put up 3's. As long as technique is sound, it's no problem adjusting to a different rim height. That's why good players can shoot on any outside rim, regardless if it's 10, 10'2", 9'8", whatever.

The games changing. We've gone from dominating bigs (Mikan, Russell, Wilt etc) to dominating athletic guards (Jordan, Drexler etc) now to speed and 3's. Rim heights not an issue. Coaches will just adapt.

I think the American players would be at an advantage. The Europeans have worked all of their lives on shooting on a 10' rim. They spend at least an hour in every practice just shooting. I don't believe they could make the adjustment well enough. American players' adjustments would be having to go from a windmill to a basic dunk, or a basic dunk to laying the ball up.

I'd go with the Americans. The European is based more on outside shooting, so changing the height of the rim could throw off their game, while the American style is more fast break, running up and down the court trying to get layups and dunks, so it wouldn't hurt the Americans as much. Plus the American team is much more athletic than everyone else, so they can jump higher.

That would be a huge advantage for the Americans, our stars play above the rim already, plus, the Europeans mostly are outside shooters, which would kill their shot.

It would bring back the dominant center.
