sigh
(That sigh was directed to the one who said this is a game, not at you. There are free games on the web; why don't people go play THEM instead of ruining this site?)
Too many people treat this site as a game (I wish they'd never gone down the points road at all, it would be a much more interesting and helpful site.)
If you notice patterns that seem suspicious to you, use the Report Abuse link, and explain what makes you suspicious.
Yahoo does want to eliminate these points-trolls and will investigate.
Why they work so hard to go after completely meaningless points is beyond me, but, since they damage the quality of the site they must be found and stopped whenever possible.

in step with threat they have been misled into questioning that there is a few variety of prize given out to the persons with the suited solutions. Your basically convenience is that there are actually not any prizes and as a result not something to be gained via their foolishness. I unquestionably won't be able to say that i've got ever been referred to as a Maoist, so i'm undecided how lots that stings, yet once you have been a Maoist you need to a minimum of call them revisionists and lapdogs of the decadent western imperialists.

Yahoo tries to prevent this and when they find out that somebody is point gaming with more than one account they cancel their accounts.
But, of course they don´t know about each and everybody so we have to live with that.
The only ones who lose are the askers because they are not being helped when a wrong answer is selected thinking it is the best because of all the votes.

There's no way of regulating the amount of accounts people have. They can't ban IPs, because families and people who live together usually share a computer. So we're stuck dealing with all the point gamers.
- How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

They're gaming which is prohibited but tough to monitor. I have seen some lose accounts when they are discovered, and it seems Yahoo is trying to crack down even more.....

Yahoo permits it and does nothing to stop it even when the accounts and point gaming are identified and reported.

It's just a game, man.
If these people need to cheat to make themselves feel better, they really have bigger problems than this.
add: Yes, I said it's a game...and if upsets you, you're taking it way too seriously. (see my profile)
