How can you buy the rights to a song?

Is there a place where you can find lists of songs that you can purchase the rights to? Wouold love to "own" my own song!

    Find out the artist's publisher and contact them.

    You wont "own" the song. the artist and the publisher own those. What you would be buying is a limited use of the work for placement in a film, for a radio or TeeVee ad, for public performance, etc.. for a limited time or for ~n amount of plays.

    ASCAP and BMI are the world's two foremost licensing and publishing organisations and the song you wish to license is probably represented by one of those.

    yeah it's probably prettty difficult to do that without having a record label and a signed contract. ask a musical expert
