There are so many different things that it could be. However, you vet has probably tested for most of them. If the vet told you just to monitor it, it is probably one of two different things.

The first is just a minor anus irritation that is causing mild bloody discharge. The second would be stress. If this is a new puppy to you, you have changed its environment, probably its food, its family, etc. All of which can cause stress and mild bloody diarrhea. I have had the second issue occur with a new puppy that I got for Christmas. Once she got use to the house, and her tummy got use to the food, everything was fine.

    Good luck to you.

One of my French Bulldogs had a grade 1 heart murmur when he was 7 weeks old, and it disappeared by 10 weeks. My vet said that it is common for puppies to have murmurs that are low grade (the grading is 1-6, with one being barely heard and 6 being heard without a stethoscope). Your vet should have said what grade of a heart murmur that your puppy has. I would just wait a while and see if it goes away before you start worrying too much. It is normal for puppies to sleep and crash, and to sleep a lot.

Ok here is what you should do, when he poops is the blood streaked on the outside of the poop? If so then he just strains when he goes and a vessle busted. Wil stop on its own

Change his diet to an better brand for him, the one he is on may not be easy to digest. Are you feding him table scrapes also? Stop that until evrything is better.

If its mixed in wiith the poo like all in it not outside as well then go to a different vet. Blood mixed in means he is bleeding further up in the digestive track and may need help.

I think I'd get a second opinion if it is dark red blood or there are large quantities of blood. If it is just a little bright red blood, it's probably just a bit bowel irritation near the anus and will probably clear up in a day or two. If not, back to the vet. If the vet did not do a fecal exam, get one done. Hookworms can cause this and they can cause severe damage to the intestines if not treated.

find a new vet and take your dog to the new vet on Monday.

It sounds like a second opinion is in order. If you're uncomfortable asking your vet to refer you elsewhere, then ask friends or people you know who love their dogs who they go to.
