When should children start using a pillow to sleep?
Are there any pros/cons to waiting longer or introducing it early?

we started letting our son sleep with a pillow around 14 months. we felt it was safe for him then and knew he could easily get up and down. he also started in a toddler bed at that time.

My daughter has been using a pillow since the age of 6 months. It may have been even a little earlier as she slept with me. She had one in her crib at 9 months and she started sleeping on it at about 1 year. Go with your gut, but they should be able to move and not get sruck under the pillow if they pull it on to themselves.

My son did not use one until he turned 2. I bought him a little travel pillow and put a superman pillow case on it for him. This was just my preference because I have always been afraid to put anything in his crib other than a couple of blankets. I am sure you can do it sooner than that but I didnt.

I did it about 9 months but I put it under the fitted sheets. Make sure that the baby can lift him/her self up and down good and roll over and move. I would also suggest you get a firm pillow for now.
