Who will be the best in the Big Ten for the next 5 years?

Between those 2 I'd have to say OSU. Matta is already showing he's a good recruiter, and OSU has more of a tradition going for it to help recruiting. Because of that, I do agree that more players at OSU may be of the caliber to leave early, but Thad is showing he can take talented Frosh and win as well. I do believe Bo knows coaching, and Wisc. will continue to be tough, but likely more up and down depending on a particular crop of upper classmen.

I think Sampson at IU and Izzo at MSU will continue to build strong programs as well.

Ohio State

I don't know if you can say either will be the best team in the Big Ten the next five years. Purdue has come out of nowhere and seem to have gotten things back on track after Gene Keady left. I also like Illinois with Bruce Weber. If it was between Ohio State and Wisconsin you have to like the ability of Thad Motta not only to recruit, but to coach.

If Thad Matta can keep recruiting like he has been lately, it will be Ohio State without question. However, if a bunch of his players leave for the draft after a year or two and he constantly is building teams with freshman, then I would say Wisconsin has an edge because they are in the sweet spot of getting talented players who aren't going to get drafted in the first round after one year, so he can play with more Juniors and Seniors. Sadly, that's the way the college game works now.

Between those two, I would say Wisconsin. But the best team in the Big Ten over the next 5 years will be Michigan State, they are going to be loaded again.
