Any ideas on how to get a dog to stop barking at everything that moves?
Seriously, she barks at everything. Once she knows the person she stops. But I can't introduce her to every soul that walks past the house.

LOTS of ways to remedy this one!
1) spray bottle. If she starts barking, spray. Some dogs don't mind this, so it won't ALWAYS work.
2) bark collars that use citronella. These collars activate a spray that smells bad to dogs and helps to stop the barking.
3) when she barks, say GOOD SPEAK! and reward with a treat. After you feel that she understands the command SPEAK, when she barks inappropriately, tell her NO SPEAK.
4) Get an empty soda can and put a few pennies in it. When she starts barking, shake the can once or twice and tell her NO.
If these don't work, consult a trainer at petsmart or petco, or ask your local veterinarian.

Barking is her way to speaking so that is the only way she knows how. Instead if she barks at other people constantly , she might just be trying to protect her house and her family. To make her stop barking at silly things like people walking by or something like that, a friend once told me to put some coins in an empty tin can and everytime the dog barked for a silly reason, they would shake the can loudly and it would scare the dog so it stopped. Then they would say NO BARK in a firm but loud manner. Then everytime she would not bark, they would congratulate her and give her a treat. Just remember to keep working on it and sometimes during the training she might forget it all together, but don't lose your grip and scream at her....she probably doesn't even know what she is doing that is driving you nuts. I guess it is pretty explanitory but just in case, keep the can close to you so or close to the area where she usually barks at the passerbyers.

First don't get mad at the dog. He or she doesn't know any better. It's up to you to train the dog even though this is frustrating.
Get an empty soda can and fill it with pennies. Every time the doggie barks inappropriately, shake the can close to the doggie. He or she will stop and if you do this enough time, the doggie will learn that if he or she barks like this, that horrible sound will occur.
You have to be consistent with any training that you do with the dog and everybody in the house has to be consistent too.
You have to keep at it and don't expect results over night.
Consult a dog trainer in a few weeks if this doesn't work but it should if you are consistent.
Good luck and don't give up on your dog!!!

fill a well cleaned out washing up liquid bottle with water and each times she barks at something you dont want her to squirt a little towards her while saying the word quiet within a week or so you wont even need to fill it just the sight of it will silence her in time you will just need to say the word quiet.....

OK this is mean but, if you sock her in the head just hard enough to get her attention everytime she barks at something she shouldn't, she'll stop real quick. Combine it with a "Look" like a certain mean face, and before long she'll stop just by you making the "Mean Face".

every time he/she barks spray it in the face with a spray water bottle say ''at'' ''stop'' and he / she will learn after a while not to bark at everything that moves!
