Do i really have to wait til the first day of my period before starting my ortho tricyclen lo?

The package insert says i have to wait till the first day of my period or the sunday after the first day. What happens if i don't want to wait until i start? That's a whole month away.

Update:

Thanks. I didn't think anything too horribly gruesone would happen, but it specifically said, "no" on their website, but it never said why, and my doc didn't say what day, but i had just had a baby and wasn't having periods yet when she prescribed them.

nothing life threatening will happen most doctors have you start either on your first day so your cycle will stay the same as it currently is. Others tell you to start on a Sunday so that you will always remember what day to start the new pack on. Most B/C pills are dated to start on a Sunday so you can then see if you missed a day by the day of the week you next dose is on. Also my starting on a Sunday you will probably get your period on a Tuesday or Wednesday and be near the end by the weekend by starting the pill on a different day you can kinda control what part of the week your period comes

Technically, sure, that's going to kick in for most folk round 7 days, yet i'd provide it about 14 days from once you all started or more beneficial, and nevertheless use commerce procedures (e.g. a condom) basically in case. to make certain that The pill to be at its finished effectiveness, you have to be on it for a minimum of one cycle (21/28 days, see * decrease than). also (have self assurance me this stuck this one lady off-look after... She chewed out my manager not straightforward for ruining a set of clothing), do not forget that the date of your ovulatory bypass may replace to the week after your twenty first pill, the position, relying on what form you acquire (i do not bear in options how Ortho TriCyclen Lo is packaged) *you both have the placebo pills (distinctively colored, oftentimes white yet see packaging) for 7 days, or basically basically stay off of it for 7 days if that's the 21-pill kit.

You can start now, just wait 7 days if your'e going to have sex.

If you do have sex before the 7 days, wear a condom.

If you really don't want to get pregnant I would wait... or ask your gyno, they would know for sure!
