How their policies will effect me. I care about our security, taxes, the economy. I am not going to vote or not vote against someone because of abortion, gay rights, stem cell research, because those issues don't effect me, nor make a big difference in my life. If I were gay, then gay rights would be important. I care about immigration because that effects my taxes, and our economy.

Experience, voting record, and most importantly ideology. I want someone who REPRESENTS ME, not an almost, or sort-of, because that's not representation at all. Ron Paul represents my beliefs best, therefore I will vote for Ron Paul. It sickens me to hear "durrr.. I vote for the lesser of two evils". How about vote for the person who represents you, regardless of what party or what the media pressures you to do! Even if a candidate only picks up 10% of the vote, the other candidates (particularly the one that lost) will look at this and say "Maybe I should start doing a little more of what that guy did to pick up that 10% of the vote". No vote is wasted, don't ever believe that. We can continue following our neighbors, as sheep do, in jumping off the cliff, or we can step back and say "Wait, this isn't right!" and change the direction of this nation. http:\\www.ronpaul2008.com

First of all, he has to be Christian; then I ask myself if he is against abortion, gay marriage, oh my bad, unions, against stem cell research, etc. I look for a candidate that falls in line w/my values and beliefs. Then, if he checks out, I look at his voting record if he currently holds office. Does he flip flop on his record for votes? Does he care about our military, vets, and children? Lastly, I pray and ask God to guide me in my vote.
