Is AARP a good group to join?
Admittedly, the annual fee is only $12.00 but that does not always mean that it is worth the money to join. I have looked at many of the options and decided that I would never use them. However, I often go to their website and read their cartoons and play two of their games. Would it be appropriate for me to join AARP just to subsidize aarp.com?

If you are not interested in any services they offer, save your $12 and continue guilt-free enjoyment of their cartoons & games. I still find good info on their site from time to time but stopped my paid subscription years ago because I was not interested in any of their (pay for) services.

Depends on how you define good.
They allow you to get all kinds of discounts on things, they are a powerful political advocacy group which is hell bent on bankrupting the country. They are vehemently opposed to you having any control over where your SS money is invested. They want to expand the role of government in medical/pharmacy care and retirement funding.
Once all the baby boomers start retiring and the IOU which the federal government has been drafting comes due, you will see an economic depression which will make 1929 look tame. Then you can turn around and thank the AARP and their cohorts (The Dems and Republicans) for not having the fiscal restraint to prevent the calamity.
