How much baby food should my daughter be eating?

My daughter is 7.5 months old. How much solid food should she be eating a day. She is still on stage one and is just starting to eat some stage 2. Thanks

    WOW!

These are the weirdest answers I've ever seen here yet! And, I've been around here for over a year now!! Obviously, you can tell which of these answers don't belong. ;)

At that age my son was eating on demand. I'd just watch to see how much he wanted. Usually we'd have a jar of fruit and a jar of veggies with some rice cereal or oatmeal cereal in the morning. At this point your more concerned with breastmilk/formula intake.

You want to make sure that if she's getting 8 oz of formula 6 times a day she's not filling up too much on food. So, she's still getting her regular amount of formula. Until she's about nine months your main concern is formula. After the nine months you can drop a bottle feeding. But, should still be getting at least 4 a day.

The only difference between the stage 1 and stage 2 is the portion size. Also, at this age I started my son on finger foods. Like cheerios I broke in half, mashed banana, Gerber's dried fruits and fruit puffs. It will only take a few days and she'll have that pincher grasp down pat!

I noticed with my son some days he was hungrier than others. Some days he would 2 jars, oatmeal and a snack. Other days he'd only eat oatmeal and pick at the others. And, that's perfectly normal. Just don't stop feeding her something because she doesn't like it. At this age they are just learning they can actually refuse food ;)

    Good Luck!

The only difference between stage one and stage two is that stage two has more food. The consistency of blending is the same. All babies eat differently. As long as she has around 32 ounces of formula/breast milk a day and eats some solid food--say cereal in the morning and some other baby food in the evening, she should be fine. She will let you know when she is full or hungry. Try going here for more help: www.verybestbaby.com.

It is endorsed by the American Pediatric Association and is made by the Nestle Corp--they make good start formula. There is tons of feeding info on there that can help!

My daughter is 10.5 months old right now.. when she was 7.5 months she had 5 or 6 200ml bottles everday and she had cereal only in the morning. For lunch she had 3-5 tbsp of meat, 4-6 tbsp of vegetable and 2-3 tbsp of fruit. For dinner she has 3-5 tbsp of a veg/meat combo and 2-3 tbsp of fruit. And we started her on juice as well, that was 30-90 ml.

I basically followed the heinz baby menu .... She is a good solid weight so i chose only to give her cereal once a day.. plus she sleeps 12 hours each night so I am guessing shes satisfied :)

I would think she should be eating atleast stage 2 all the time going to stage 3. I would stop stage1, and go to the 2 for a few weeks then go to stage 3. Give her oatmeal or rice cereal with some applesauce mixed in, 2 tbsp. of meat 2 tbsp of sweet potatoes or something like that and 2 tbsp. fruit eat lunch and dinner. Maybe 1 or 2 snacks in between and give her maybe some of the baby yogurt.

Usually depends on how hungry she is. Does she sleep at night? If she wakes up a lot, she's probably not getting enough food. You can usually tell when babies are full, they'll start playing with their food, turning their head, and not as eager to pay attention to the spoon in front of them. And I wouldn't worry, if they're pretty healthy and in their weight range. They may get a little chunky, but as soon as they start walking around and getting more active, the baby fat will start to come off.

my monster will eat a whole can of baby food.. she is also 7.5 months old..(closer to 8)

I feed her until she stops showing interest in the food.. so usually about a jar.. :) (a little jar that is)

depends on your child and how hungry he/she is

Do not ask this question here because you could get a wrong answer because your baby’s feeding amount should be based on several factors and a certified nutritionist should give you a guide line. Before that say feed her this or that they will tell ask you serious of question and major her developmental factors and will make recommendation based in these facts.

Please do not over or under feed her

If your daughter is gaining weight, is bright eyed and alert, you're doing exactly what she needs. My kids ate very few solids until age 1 because that's what their pediatrician recommended, and they grew up to be healthy and happy.

Wow, why is she so far behind? Doesn't she have any teeth yet? My son was eating 3 good meals a day of "stage 2" and "stage 3" at that age. AT least two "courses" per meal, plus formula. Courses meaning jars or containers or bowls. Like, a jar of veggies and a Yo baby yogurt.

a little cereal 3 times a day, or veggies, unless she is acting hungry she really doesn't need any, maybe some cereal before bed to help her sleep thru the night
