yahoo messenger voice confrencing won't work...?

Question

I am able to get into the voice confrence room in messenger, with 1 or more people.  However the Talk button isn't highlited, actually anything to do with voice confrencing doesn't work.. I can type, but can't hear them and they can't hear me. 
     I am able to talk and hear pc to pc calls so the mic and the speakers are set up.  
     Any ideas on how to make this work?  i've tried everying. =(

at this point vista and yahoo dont seem to be compatable, lots of ppl that have vista are also having voice chat problems with messenger i know yahoo is working on this problem but i dont know how long its gonna be before its fixed

You have to have a microphone to hookup to your computer. That is the only way you can talk to anyone. I dont have a microphone but my friends do and i tried but it wont work for me either and they told me to get a microphone.
