In Morrowind: Oblivion, what use are the mundane objects?

I keep the hand scythe hoping it makes gathering ingredients more efective but not sure it does. What about all the cloth, weights and scales etc. Has anyone found a use for any of it?

No all the objects seem useless. I always feel quite annoyed when I look in a barrel hoping for something useful or some gold and find yet another pair of calipers! I don't even know what they are.

    Happy playing.!

Nope - these items are just fluff included to make the game world look more realistic and less bare (afterall don't you have a lot of mundane items in your house?).

Although I didn't know about the zero gravity on the paintbrush - thanks!

well the paint brush has zero gravity (that is to say, no phsyics acting upon it) so if you collect them and drop them, you can make a stairway to heaven. or just like into the air.
