Christians are human. Pagans are human. Christianity is a religion. Paganism is a set of religions. Any person can take any religion and use it either to transcend mundane reality, or abuse other people. Prior to Christianity, the Romans assimilated all sorts of smaller pagan religions--do a little research on the development of the Roman empire.

I don't care what religion a person is--I'm for the freedom of all religious expression. Most Christians are just normal, everyday people--it's only the extremists who are loud and give the rest a bad name.

Christian beliefs are intemixed with paganism, white magic, and error for just this reason.

    Easter = Ishtar

Christmas = the feast of the Saturnalia

Transubstantiation = white magic trick to turn bread into flesh

All Saints Day = All Hallows Eve or Day of the Dead

    and on and on.................

Better wake up and realize that the way is truly narrow, and the remnant is a whole lot smaller than anyone would ever believe.

I think it's great! We're much more accepted today than even when I became a pagan 10 years ago. The only negative I can see is all the fluffy bunny wanna blessed be's on the rise too

Julia- you obviously know nothing about the religon, so study up, or take your negativity elsewhere. There is nothing "Depressed" about the Craft, and most of the witches I know are middle aged mothers, and other grown men and women.

If Christianity is true, then there is little point in trying to force anyone to accept it, since, according to Christ, God judges hearts, not necessarily actions and/or words. Nobody can force a person's heart to change, no matter how much pressure is brought to bear on them, although you may force "lip service"...but, as we have already mentioned, "lip service" is not acceptable.

Seems to me that, if Christianity is true, then nothing man can do can either hurry it along, or stop it.

God is gonna do things His way.....

The rise of paganism, in my humble opinion, is the natural outcome of trying to force people to believe the way we think they ought to. People are funny that way...the more you try to force them to do something, the more they will do the opposite.

    Childish? Yes.

    But true, all the same.

    HI

YEs, A lot of Pagan rituals were preserved in Christian holiday when they were forced to convert and I believe that the keeping alive of these practices has had a profound effect on the rise of modern day paganism now. If they would have taught them without compromising a lot of these rituals would have been forgotten and not excepted in modern day but it is too late now, andnow they out number true Christians.

It is not scary, christianity has "borrowed" a lot of its beliefs and traditions from Paganism and truth to tell, Paganism is one of the oldest religions on Earth, far pre-dating even Catholicism and christianity by thousands of years.

Pagans weren't literally forced to convert in a sense that you mean, but christians did distill fear in people no less than a hundred years ago, prosecuting and even killing them for the smallest and trivial of matters.

Quite the opposite, I find more pagans an infinitely more comforting thought than more christians. Like another person answered, pagans don't try to proselytize, and they generally don't judge.

No it isn't scary, because us pagans are not about forcing others to follow our faith. We accept all faiths equally as long as you don't push your views on us we will not push our views on you.

I dont think that it is scary because we dont force our beliefs on anyone. We believe that every religion is right, The God and Goddess are too big for one religion.

It's a very American thing to believe in freedom of religion. Only God knows why people want to become pagans. As long as there is no human sacrifice, it doesn't bother me. I merely pray for their souls.
