Neosporin safe on dogs?

My dog has a cut just below her eye and when she and my other puppy are playing it re-opened is it safe to put neosporin on it?

Yes. Neosporin is safe on just about any mammal that you can think of. If there are any obvious side effects like redness or inflamation, discontinue use. If it's severe, call a vet, obviously.

An aunt of mine use to use Neosporin on her birds, which had a bad habit of getting in trouble with her cat, on a regular basis.

You could also give your local vet a phone call and ask them this question over the phone. Chances are they'll answer it without having you come in, free of charge.

Yes it is safe for your dog. I always use it on my dogs when need to be. Just be careful not to get it in her eye.

  • Sure, I put neosporin on my dog's cuts on the rare occasion that she hurts herself not me :-)

Yes, I frequently use it for cuts and scrapes. Don't get it in her eye itself.

I did it to my beagle and he was absolutely fine...

especially if it's someplace they can't lick it off.....I think it would be ok.....
