You need to install it, if you don't you will no longer be able to get updates. This update is the most important one, because it checks to make sure that your software is a legal copy.

Its better you install the updates because some of the applications requires updates for their hardware and software also but sill if you want to not to install the updates then Go to control pannel - Security Centre -=Automatic updates-select turn of automatic updates then you will not get any updates form the Microsoft site.

You can uninstall it after it's been installed. If you don't want any more updates, you can disable the automatic update feature.
