anyone know how i can bypass my switch on my 87 suzuki ltf 230 atv?
i broke the key off in the switch and now i can't use my switch to turn on my lights or to use my electric start but is their a way i can bypass the switch and connect some wires together to still be able to use my lights and electric start?

Perhaps. but it would be easier just to get a good locksmith to remove the broken key and make you a new one.

I cant believe yours is still operating!! You and yours must be some real mantainence people!! I cant stand that paticular Suz Lt model myself having to work on many w/ mostly Electrical problems...Yes my answer is no help to you Im Sorry and Good Luck to you tho..Sorry Again.
How many wires can go to the switch on a ATV; Oh yea we are talking Suz bs; Maybe just wire the colored wire to themselves (since there are no fuses on atv to blow (simple sys) to each repective color and when you kick you'll know by which one sparks?

You should be able to get a new ignition switch at your local dealer. They really aren't all that expensive and it would be much better than bypassing it in the long run.

splice the blue and red wires together and hit the starter . away you go
