Why are people so mean to gay people?

You are right there is no need to be mean or rude, as a Christian though it is our duty to call wrong wrong and try to lead the lost to Christ, it is up to them to accept or deny Him but this can be done w/o being rude or mean.

I have come to believe that people are mean to people who frighten them, either because of a lifestyle or obivous difference.

Can happen with something as simple as giving one group of workers one task that was another group's responsibilty. People are afraid of change and any obvious differences.

likely,all persons are afraid of something abnormal,just as they are afraid of the unknown-they;re simply scared of not being in control!!!no one likes it when someone disobeys and being gay is kind of like disobeying the rules of society...i have a lot of homosexual friends and i cant stand seeing them being treated badly.it's wrong. after all,they are just folowing their nature-the same thing we're doing while sleeping or eating!!

Because they are ignorant and it makes them feel better about themselves to be mean to others who are different then them.

Its ignorance and the lack of the ability to be tolerable of that which they can't identify with.

I believe it's out of ignorance and fear.

your right, i am friends with alot of lezbeans/gays. I just don't believe in gay/lezbean weddings.
