What sauce or condiment would compliment crab cakes?

    tarter sauce! my special recipe is based on a recipe from a fave seafood restraunt in town.

    about one roasted red pepper chopped

    about 1/4 cup of yellow onion (cause they're sweet)

    chopped pickles, 1-2 dill

    mayo 1cup to 2cups

    salt

    pepper and paprika

    this can be made creamy, runny or chunky, you decide by how much mayo you want in it! and it's delicious!!

    Remoulade Sauce

    10 ounces olive oil

    5 ounces vinegar

    1 7 1/2 oz jar Dijon Mustard or Creole Mustard

    5 tbsp ketchup

    5 tbsp fresh horseradish

    5 cloves garlic minced fine

    1 tsp Tabasco Sauce

    salt to taste

    Blend the ingredients as listed. (Chill to let the flavors meld.)

    My favorite sauce for crab cakes is Creole Horseradish Sauce.

    recipe:

    1 cup mayonnaise

    1 tablespoon cream-style horseradish

    1 tablespoon Creole mustard

    Just stir together. Very simple, very good.

    A remoulade sauce is delicious with crab cakes. there is the old stand by of tartar sauce.

    Some good sauces for crab cakes :

    mayo with dijon mustard

    mayo with crushed garlic, salt, and lemon juice & zest (my personal fave)

    cocktail sauce

    spicy mustard

    Tartar sauce,its a mayonaise based sauce

    chop---1oz capers

    2oz gherkins

    sprigs of cilantro or parsley

    Combine all this with

    250ml of mayonnaise

    Wasabi aioli. Which is a mayonaise with a little wasabi oil or powder in it. Also try a light balsamic reduction or pickled ginger, chopped cilantro might also work well with it.

    I love Tarter sauce, homemade.I eat it with all my seafood dishes.Crab Cakes sound good.
