Gary LeVox (born Gary Wayne Vernon , Jr. on July 10, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio) is the lead vocalist in the band Rascal Flatts. Rascal Flatts bandmate Jay DeMarcus is Gary's second cousin. Gary graduated from Olentangy High School in Lewis Center, Ohio in 1988.Gary graduated from College at Ohio St. University. Gary worked at the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and moved to Nashville in 1997 after many months of prodding and phone calls from cousin Jay. Gary enjoys playing acoustic guitar, although he doesn't do this in the band. His hobbies include hunting and fishing. His first musical performance was at the age of 9 in his church's play. Gary's first job was at a horse farm. His passion was obviously music. Gary has been married to his wife, Tara, since May 15th, 1999. They have two children.
