C Greg Oden from Ohio State is the presumed no.1 pick if he chooses to enter the draft. Kevin Durant from Texas also had an amazing freshman year and showed more offensive prowess to his game, but Oden is generally seen as having more potential to dominate the league. Oden is a 7 footer who is NBA ready defensively. He averaged 3.5 blocks per game in limited minutes as a freshman at Ohio St.. He didn't score nearly as much as Kevin Durant this year, but it usually takes big men longer to mature offensively. No lottery team wants to be the one to pass on the next great center. Trust in history, when a dominant center is available he is almost always made the number 1 pick. Hakeem Olajuwon was drafted number 1 over Michael Jordan (who was drafted 3rd by Chicago after Portland took Sam Bouie :P). Oden is no. 1.

The first pick overall? or the Nets first round draft pick?

I say Oden will go first because he is a once every ten years type of player. Durant is very much like a Garnett type player but with better shooting range.

Personally, I'd take Durant, but Oden will probably go first.

Now, since you are a Nets fan, I think the biggest need for the Nets is a post presence. I would have Aaron Gray, Hibbert, that huge guy from UConn or maybe even Joakim Noah if he falls far.

If Greg Oden does happen to go to the draft (lets hope he doesnt) then he will be the #1 pick hands down, its not very often that a big guy comes along like him, Patrick Ewing, Tim Duncan. They are few and far between. Greg Oden is a surefire #1 and after he plays agains Hibbert then the scouts will see how he does against another guy his size.

It has to be Greg Oden. No team (with the exception of Chicago and Detroit) have won an NBA title without a dominating big man. Oden is a physical specimen and is the best man to come out since Lebron James, which was rather recent. He has the possibility to be the best big man since Shaquille O'Neal, and Durant isn't a sure-fire superstar. He has alot of talent and was dominating as a freshman, but then again, so was Wayman Tisdale.

Assuming Durant and Oden both come out and Boston gets the first pick, then i say durant. But if memphis is the first pick then it will be oden. They need a center because they are trying to deal pau gasol. Af anyone else gets the top pick then it will most likely be oden, b/c all that the other lottery teams are missing are dominant centers.

    Kevin Durant

Oden because he clogs up the paint, and defense wins championships, look at all the teams that won the NBA finals they all had dominate defensive centers (exept for MJ and the bulls)

    Detroit-Ben wallace

    LA and Miami- Shaq

    Spurs - Duncan

    even the rockets had Hakeem

I can honestly say that is unpredictable. Despite all of the hype I think Durant and Oden will both return for their sophomore season.

Oden will go first, Durant second
