Kids, and money.?

What is the best way for a 12 year old boy, going on 13 can make money, nothing that involves babysitting. He is trying to save up for a computer that he can use to do school work, and to use to talk to his friends.

When I was 12, I wanted to make money for a computer too. lol

So my parents made up a few little fliers with my name and phone number saying that I'd do "odd jobs"

I would mow yards, help plant flowers, babysit, help older people do dishes/clean, shovel snow, rake leaves...etc

But the difference in that is, at the time I was in a very small, nice neighborhood. Everyone knew everyone. The very rare kind where you truly don't have to worry about weirdo's or anything.

I wouldn't advise putting fliers up and working for just anybody if you arent sure that you're in a decent area.

But if you are, it would probably work out quite nicely.

    I made about 300$

(I didn't charge people much because I knew them all.)

I did it for about a year.

It was pretty fun. Got to talk to people, get out, feel responsible...learn how to handle money. ^_^

It kinda depends on the type of work you are willing to do and the area you live in. Most likely you'll end up doing something simple, like a lawn mowing job, a paper route, or washing cars for a car lot. I lived in a small town where a lot of people went fishing. I made a killing during my summers just by selling night crawlers (worms) to people going fishing. I also mowed lawns and had a paper route. There is nothing wrong with a boy babysitting either. Sometimes boys do a really great job. Hope this helps! Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Delivering flyers or newspapers. Give him an allowance based on the chores he does or extra jobs he does at home.

Mow yards, do chores for people, etc. That's how they did it back in my day. (IMHO, I think some kids these days are afraid of a little hard work...)
