Sound Card Trouble?

I asked before but I wasn't very clear.

I'm trying to figure out what driver to download to fix my sound issue. Someone reccomended I open the computer and see what kind of sound card I had. I did that but I have no idea what any of the stuff written on it ment

ECT some kind of squiggle looked like AJ

ICE19298B

O449

CYL ver 3.0

Jline in1 Jmic1

Jline 61

The computer is a medion composer 4215 PC the sound card came with the computer I can't get the driver off of ether of the disks I had - the card I was looking at was in the front of the coputer parrallel with the front sound/ mic outlets I can't really access it I don't want to take it appart any more then I did I'm afraid I'm going to break it worse lol - there's also a silver cube thing in the back connected to the motherboard and rear speaker/mic outlets all it says is +amp 0501

In the device manager I have one yellow question mark for a PCI device, I can only assume it has something to do with the sound

Thanks much.

well since your not that computer saavy do this. go to start then run. Type in dxdiag and hit enter and run the tests and you soundcard info should be on that page. a yellow question mark is usually an issue with the driver . so run the dxdiag and get the card info. then you can get on the net and find an updated driver. if all else fails get a new soundcard.

An easy way to determine any hardware in your pc is to go to the below site, download and install and run the free program called "Belarc Advisor". It works very well and you should get your answer. Good luck.

I second the Belarc Advisor, good way to find out more about your computer & it's easy to use, even for someone other than a techno geek.
