Circuit city wages too high?
Circuit City is laying off 3,400 employees because their wages are too high. They will be replaced with workers earning much less. This may have raised the share price of their stocks, but I don't know if I want to do business with a company that treats their employees this way. Does anyone out there know what they were paying the "high priced" employees?

Circuit City pays about $10 to $11 an hour on average... But circuit city fired 3,400 of its "highest-paid" sales staff.. I'm assuming they were making the top dollars... $10-$11 hardly seems enough to survive.... I guess they prefer to hire people off the streets who have no knowledge than to keep the loyal worker with all the experience and knowledge on products and customer service

I dont know, but i hate shopping at circuit city, they have sleazy salespeople straight out of the 1970s, always trying to pimp you into buying an extended service contract.
Im glad best buy came out, because theirs sales people are much more low-key.
Good riddance Circuity City...besides, their lame burgandy and silver stores were played out in 1989, and they continue to use the same decor

I just purchased a TV from Circuit City. If I had known this before I made my purchase I would have taken my business elsewhere.
