High electric bill?

Looking for any advice on how to lower this electric bill. My last months bill was over $290. My apartment is only a 1 bed room with a little over 950 square foot. I called them a number of times and one time I called they said my average bill should only be $107, I have lived there for 3 months now and I have never had a bill that low, not even close to that. Has anyone else ever had this problem? I need some good advice about this.

Maybe you can get the electric utility ot ocme out and make sure that nothing is wrong (like someone else tapping into your line). If you have electric heat, that may be a reason too.

im also in your shoes! i have a one bedroom with a loft. our electricity problem seems to be caused by the loft. some things that have helped us are: handwashing dishes instead of using the dishwasher, only turning your unit on when you absolutely have to, hanging your clothes to dry/ not using your dryer as much. you also might want to have your meter checked to make sure it is working properly. and change your air filters regularly! good luck!!
