When did Osan AB, ROK become a remote tour?

Last I heard, Osan AB was a two-year accompanied tour. I was last in Korea in 1990, so my knowledge of the base stops there.

Update:

I was at Kunsan AB in 1979, and Osan was an accompanied tour then. I went back to Korea and was at Taegu AB in 1989 and left in 1990, and Osan was still an accompanied tour. They had on-base dependent housing and everything. At that point, Osan was the only accompanied tour in Korea.

Update 2:

And to the "Princess:"

Still waiting for you to name the time and place, sweetheart.

More "keyboard bravado" on your part, I see....and I know why. You're a coward. You know for a fact that if you do actually get a chance to spit in my face, I'll knock your teeth down your throat in response.

So name the time and place, sugar, and let's have at it.

Or are you all talk and no action?

Don't know when, but it is a remote, one year tour now, I did mine from March 2005, to March 2006. But now the PACAF commander is recommending it to become a three year accompanied tour .

Indian Princess: You are a jackass.

The Questioner was asking a legitimate question about a duty station in the Republic of Korea (and the South Korean people owe their lives to the sacrifices of UN troops led by the Americans).

The American military has a place for women in various roles except combat arms - and that decision was made in Congress. The decision to bring women to parity in the Armed Forces instead of restricting them to auxillary status was signed into law by President Truman - hardly a "Liberal" as you put it. The American military has programs such as Equal Opportunity and other gender-empowering tools in place. There is still a long way to go compared to, say, Israel or the European Union, but that's still a damn sight better than, say, the Indian Army.

You are wrong, wrong, wrong. In your facts, in your crude and mindless behavior towards other posters, and in your abject refusal to face the truth. Objection to foreign policy by a government is fine. Taking that to a blanket condemnation and barrage of petty insults to servicemembers in matters you have no awareness of is wrong.

Stick to what you know best, like questions of whether to perform oral sex on the first date or not, instead of insulting the life decisions of those who have done no harm towards you.

It was a remote tour in the early 70s. I was there about 5 years ago as a civilian and surprised to see there were dependents in the area.

Unaware that Osan was ever accompanied except for a tiny minority.

Sorry, yet 3-stages on the on the spot are no longer eligible for a miles off in optimal AFSC's. as without postpone as you get on your first duty Station knock out your CDCs as speedy as possible and save on with for Osan in case you nonetheless prefer to bypass there. needless to say your AFSC ought to be open in Osan. Mine replaced into no longer, i replaced into tied to the F-15 and Osan would not have any, so it replaced suitable right into a moot element for me. the two way thank you on your provider!!!

YOU DON'T HAVE EMAIL ENABLED SO I COMMUNICATE VIA ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.

THE USA MILITARY OWES A HUGE APOLOGY TO ITS OWN WOMEN AND TO THE WOMEN OF YOUR (IRAQI)OCCUPATION.

YOU ARE SO CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL INSULTS, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE WOMEN OF THE US MILITARY, AND THE WOMEN OF IRAQ?

YOUR MILITARY THINKS THERE IS "NO PLACE" FOR WOMEN, AND IF IT WERE NOT FOR "LIBERALS" THERE WOULD BE NO WOMEN IN THE MILITARY.

YOUR MILITARY ONLY TOLERATES WOMEN, IT DOES NOT ACTUALLY WANT THEM EQUALLY WITH MEN, CORRECT ???

YOU LOST ANY PRETENSE TO A MORAL HIGH GROUND LONG LONG AGO IN IRAQ, AND IN YOUR SERVICE.
