im guessing your refeering to either anoles or house geckos, they are smaller species of lizards, in the wild they will litteraly eat any thing they can shove in their mouth, such as spiders, ants, any flying bug, crickets, and small grasshoppers. im shure their diet consisits of much much more. if you were to take one of these lizards captive, i wouldnt feed it any insects you find out side, i would advise you to feed them pin head crickets with calcium supplement. if you collect insects from the out side and feed it to them they can carry pesticide, eventually causing harm and even death to your lizard.

If it is the small finger size lizards, they eat small insects. (Crickets, flies, ants etc...)
